Home Care Services in Dubai – What You Need to Know

Home care - Dubai
Home care – Dubai

Expert home care and healthcare services in Dubai is difficult to come by. The thought about returning home after a stay in any hospital or clinic is most endearing to any patient. Whatever the nature of the illness or the health condition of the patient, it is both more cost-effective and reassuring for the family to get the patient back home.

Everybody is comfortable of the known and emotionally connected environment that a home provides. But it is better said or wished than done. It’s a daunting task to care for the sick and dependent patient at one’s home, while also being attentive to the patient’s recovery and providing her with ample support to pursue normal activities. So, in comes health care agencies that provide capsule packages for home care depending on the type or severity of the condition.

In a city like Dubai this is especially true for expat families who are mostly two members and with or without children. So, it’s not possible for one of the partners to take a long break from office and even if one is able take that, taking care of children at home as well as caring for the sick one is not a possibility. And if an elderly person needs such medical attention and care at home, it is all the more imperative to get professional home health care services to provide care and nurturing support to elders who are often more sensitive than not. Plus, there are certain conditions like Parkinson’s disease, diabetes or Alzheimer’s disease require specialized care from trained medical nurses in home.

The most common features or services  a top-quality home care health agency in Dubai must include:

Case Analysis and Patient Coaching:

The foremost thing is to take in stock of the situation and analyze the patient’s case and design a tailor-made template for her. An advanced health care agency must also ask relevant questions to the patient party to understand the basic environment at their home and derive a fair idea about their lifestyle before designing a package for them. It also helps to coach the patient beforehand to break the ice and make him mentally sign up for the upcoming process and set health goals together in order to keep her motivated.

Trained Nursing Care:

All-round in-home nursing services must include maintaining daily log of the patient’s vital parameters, signs and symptoms as well as proper management of such symptoms and preventing further complications.

Elderly Care:

This is a major area which requires not only medical proficiency but a positive body language and attitude and a sensitive behavior as elders are susceptible to loss of self-esteem in such situations. A well-mannered home care nurse should be able to make a patient feel comfortable while assisting them with day-to-day activities and private rituals as well as self-grooming. Daily home elderly care services include assisting with daily living, dispensing of medication, diet monitoring, helping with movement and prevention of bed sore, as and when applicable.

Palliative Care:

Specialized home palliative care is an important part of home healthcare services as this form of alleviation and soothing of pain makes the journey of life more bearable for patients suffering from terminal illnesses. This also involves a psychological tuning as one needs to spread a message of positivity as far as possible while respecting the patient’s dignity and stay true to medical supervisions.

Cancer Patient Care:

Cancer patients require specialized care and medical attention as a slight change or unwarranted move might disturb their process of recovery and sense of equilibrium. Holistic healthcare for cancer patients at any stage also require an alert and active trained home care nurse.

Maternity and Infant Care:

Stay-at-home maternity care nurses are required by most families post childbirth for optimal postnatal care that includes assisting the new mother with lactation, breastfeeding and providing her ample rest such that she can recover fully. Monitoring the baby’s feeding and sleep cycles as well as helping parents adapt to the multiple needs and moods of babies is a process that home care maternity nurses attunes them with.

Alzheimer’s Disease Care:

Conditions like Alzheimer’s disease require round-the-clock monitoring of not just the patient’s day-to-day activities but also engage her with mental activities like word games and number games and thus help them not to sink into a psychological loop. Plus, such patients often require attention for going out.

In Nightingale Dubai, we have home care & health care nurses with strong credentials and with a proven track record of having handled delicate medical conditions. We provide sustained medical home healthcare service packages that take care of the patient’s unique condition. We mutually set recovery goals with patients and their families. Why Should I Take Flu Vaccine

It’s again the time of the year for that jab (We know you don’t like it though). Taking a flu vaccine in Dubai has lots of merits.

This year amidst the corona virus/Covid-19 pandemic, it is more important than ever to take your flu vaccine. Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has made it easy and affordable for everyone. By taking the vaccine, you are not just protecting yourself, but your family, friends, colleagues and the community (especially for your children).

Few facts about flu and the vaccine:

  1. The flu – short for influenza – is a viral infection that affects your respiratory system (Ring any bells? We will come to that later). Seasonal influenza outbreaks usually happen in winter. Starts as early as October and continue till May. Flu symptoms vary from asymptomatic or mild through to severe symptoms and complications that can lead to death. Laboratory testing is required to confirm a diagnosis.
  2. There are around 5 million cases of flu reported every year which result in hundreds of thousands of deaths.
  3. Talking about the respiratory system, Flu and COVID-19 are both respiratory illnesses, but are caused by different types of viruses. It may be difficult to tell the difference between them as symptoms of flu and COVID-19 are similar. A flu vaccine does not protect against COVID-19.
  4. There are mainly four types of influenza viruses, types A, B, C and D. Influenza A and B viruses are the main cause of seasonal epidemics. And there are more than 100 subtypes, and the ones in circulation change from season to season. Now you know why we get the flu every year and the importance of getting the flu vaccine.
  5. The flu vaccine contains a deactivated form of the virus (as in almost all the vaccines – though chickenpox or measles vaccine contains a weakened live version of the virus), which teaches your body to recognize a real flu virus and respond. Way back in 1933 the very first generation of live-attenuated vaccines was developed; and in 1942, a bivalent vaccine was produced after the discovery of influenza B.
  6. Everyone starting from the age of 6 months is advised to take the vaccine.
  7. Every year scientists meet and analyze the current year’s data (142 national influenza centers in 113 different countries!) and prepare the composition for the yearly vaccine. Fun fact is that for northern hemisphere the composition is decided in February and southern hemisphere in September.
  8. Will there be flu along with COVID-19 in the fall and winter? – Yes and that’s why we are asking you be on the safer side. For you and for the community. If you contract Covid -19 and Influenza at the same time you may become quite unwell, hence best to get vaccinated and do PCR tests for COVID.
  9. The actual cost of the influenza vaccine in Dubai is Dh 21.60. Total cost varies with the facility’s additional charges. Read Gulf news report (https://gulfnews.com/uae/health/flu-season-in-uae-why-influenza-vaccine-prices-differ-across-clinics-in-dubai-1.73847763 )

Safety measures for your kids in Dubai’s heat

Table of Contents

Sun safety measures for kids:

  • Keep your baby cool and protect them from the sun.
  • Babies less than 6 months old should always be kept out of direct sunlight. Their skin contains too little melanin, which is the pigment that gives skin, hair and eyes their colour, and provides some protection from the sun.
  • Older babies should also be kept out of the sun as much as possible, particularly in the summer months and between 11am and 3pm, when the sun is at its strongest. If you go out when it’s hot, attach a parasol or sunshade to your baby’s pushchair to keep them out of direct sunlight.
  • It’s good to buy a rash vest or cover up for your child as the sunshine in the UAE is particularly strong, in addition to this if they still have skin exposed  apply a sunscreen with a sun protection factor (SPF) of at least 30 to your baby’s skin. Make sure the product also protects against both UVA and UVB rays. Many brands produce sunscreen specifically for babies and young children, as these products are less likely to contain additives that might irritate the skin. Apply the sun cream regularly, particularly if your child is in and out of the sea or paddling pool. Make sure your child wears a sunhat with a wide brim or a long flap at the back to protect their head and neck from the sun (NHS 2018).
  • Sunscreen should be applied to all exposed skin, including the face, neck and ears, and head if you have thinning or no hair, but a wide-brimmed hat is better.
  • Sunscreen needs to be reapplied liberally and frequently, and according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  • This includes applying it straight after you have been in water, even if it’s “water resistant”, and after towel drying, sweating or when it may have rubbed off.
  • It’s also recommended to reapply sunscreen every 2 hours, as the sun can dry it off your skin.

Check for signs of heat exhaustion

The signs of heat exhaustion include:

  • a headache
  • dizziness and confusion
  • loss of appetite and feeling sick
  • excessive sweating and pale, clammy skin
  • cramps in the arms, legs and stomach
  • fast breathing or pulse
  • temperature of 38C or above
  • being very thirsty

The symptoms are often the same in adults and children, although children may become floppy and sleepy. If someone is showing signs of heat exhaustion, they need to be cooled down.

Things you can do to cool down someone who has heat exhaustion:

Follow these four steps:

  • Move them to a cool place.
  • Get them to lie down and raise their feet slightly.
  • Get them to drink plenty of water. Sports or rehydration drinks are OK.
  • Cool their skin – spray or sponge them with cool water and fan them. Cold packs around the armpits or neck are good, too.

Stay with them until they’re better.

They should start to cool down and feel better within 30 minutes.

When to call an ambulance

You or someone else have any signs of heatstroke:

  • feeling unwell after 30 minutes of resting in a cool place and drinking plenty of water
  • not sweating even though too hot
  • a temperature of 40C or above
  • fast breathing or shortness of breath
  • feeling confused
  • a fit (seizure)
  • loss of consciousness
  • not responsive

Heatstroke can be very serious if not treated quickly.

Put the person in the recovery position if they lose consciousness while you’re waiting for help.

Heat rash (prickly heat)

Heat rash is uncomfortable, but usually harmless. It should clear up on its own after a few days.

The symptoms of heat rash are:

  • small red spots
  • an itchy, prickly feeling
  • redness and mild swelling

What to do when someone has a heat rash?

  • Use sponge with cool water to soothe the affected area. Place them in a cool room
  • Dry their skin with a soft towel by patting slowly and apply some calamine lotion to keep it damp
  • Bathe them in lukewarm water and pat the skin with a soft towel so that it stays between dry and damp.

Medical attention to be given if the spots are not fading away even after 12 hours or there is a rise in temperature.
If you need a helping hand to manage your children, our expert DHA and BLS (Basic life support) certified home nurses are just a call away.

All you need to know about home care nursing services in Dubai

home care nursing services in Dubai
home care nursing services in Dubai

Are you having a troubling time worrying about the ailing loved one at home? Is your loved one recovering at home in the post-operative phase or you have an elderly member at home of whom you are not being able to take proper care? You are not alone in this situation, in a fast-paced city like Dubai there are several people like you who are not able to do enough for their loved one at home due to their busy work schedule and demands of professional life.

You shouldn’t blame yourself for this inability. We can understand providing your loved one nursing home care always can burn a hole in your pocket. It is during these situations you can look for an alternative. And that alternative is home healthcare services or in-home healthcare agencies.

In-home healthcare agencies in Dubai provides home nursing and home healthcare services so that you can get nursing home-like care for your loved ones at home at a much more affordable price. If you are looking to hire a general nurse for the patient at your home do consider visiting one of the many in-home healthcare agencies in your city for specialised nurses.

In-home healthcare agencies have a workforce which comprises of nurses, midwife, caregivers specially trained to handle a specific health condition of a patient. So, a maternity nurse will vary from a nurse trained to provide care to the elderly, terminally ill or cancer patients. So, go and choose your nurse from an in-home healthcare agency for a specially trained person suitable to your needs.

Another advantage of an in-home healthcare agency is that the Agency doctors will be in constant touch with the nurse and maintain a report about the health condition of your patient. Which will be shared with you periodically so that you can monitor the developments closely and even report the same to the doctor that you have been consulting for your patient. Besides, a trained home nurse is much better equipped for responding to emergencies, promptly and correctly advocating the medicines, checking the blood pressure of the patient and doing some preliminary tests on the patient or injecting the medicine.

You can ensure that by hiring a nurse from a reputed home healthcare agency you are not duped as you can always check the certificates of a nurse employed by a home nursing agency. We doubt nurse whose contact you get to know through your neighborhood hardly could produce a certificate of her course. So be careful about choosing your nurse and lessen your worries. it’s not just about entrusting the keys of your home to someone it’s about taking care of the health of your loved one at home and in your absence.

Let’s understand the services of the nurse provided by the home healthcare agencies.

Maternity Nurse or a Nanny

A maternity nurse or a nanny is someone who takes care of the mother and the newborn in the postnatal phase after the mother has given birth to a child. In case of cesarean child and more intense care required by the mother your in-home health care agency will provide a nurse who is well equipped in dressing the C section wound of the mother and advocate her the medicines and also monitor the bleeding frequency of the mother.

A maternity nurse takes care of both the baby and the mother. She maintains cleanliness in the house, maintains a high standard of hygiene, can even prepare meals for the mother as per the diet chart. She will also teach first time mother how to breastfeed her child and will be a complete counsellor for the new mother of how to take care of her child and her health and also would encourage the new mother to come out of the depression phase that sets in a woman after giving birth to a child and help her cope up with normal life.

Nurse for Aging and terminally ill patients

You may have an elderly at home who constantly gives you blues for not being able to manage their daily activities. Simply taking a bath or eating on time can become irregular for them. Since you cannot manage them the whole day due to your work, it is desirable to hire a part-time elderly care nurse from a home nursing agency.

The part-time elderly care nurse will not just create a strict routine for your elderly loved one but bring back dignity to his/her life. She will give your loved one company, make him feel important, keep depression at bay, take him /her for a short walk at the same time maintain hygiene in the house, monitor medicines for them and help them with daily chores.

Critical patient caregiver

With cancers becoming a reality of our society and more elderly people suffering from it, you should be both financially and mentally be ready for such circumstances. To help create some positivity at home you can hire a critical caregiver nurse from a home nursing agency, someone who is mentally tough and have handled such patients before. A good caregiver can share your pain and inspire your struggle.

Do consult a home nursing agency before making up your mind of hiring a nurse for the different circumstances discussed above or more situations to lessen your worries.

How to find the right babysitter for your kid in dubai?

Babysitters in Dubai
Babysitters in Dubai

Are you a working couple and breaking a sweat over finding the right babysitter for your kid? We understand it can be a stressful experience to find a babysitter who fits your requirement and get someone trustworthy to whom you can handover your baby without having to worry. In a big metro like Dubai, several professional organisations have come up to provide you with a babysitter or nanny for babysitting at home. You may approach them for in-home daycare babysitters but what is invaluable is how you choose a babysitter through the process of an interview. Here are some tips, questions that you must ask a babysitter before deciding to employ her. We are sure the below set of advice will be highly helpful for you to find the right nanny/babysitter for your kid.

Hygiene is the key to babysitting

Health and hygiene are the most important criteria for infant care. Thoroughly check with your babysitter of what kind of practices she would undertake to maintain the highest degree of hygiene for your kid. Ask her questions about her clean up process, bathing, poop clean up training etc.

Is she the boss without being bossy?

Making kids listen to a babysitter could be a big challenge. She can’t be bossy yet be able to handle your kid. Ask her questions about how she would prefer to connect to a baby. What is her technique of giving and garnering the attention of your baby? Ask her to do a role-play during the interview. Where you can pretend to be a kid and let her ask you a few questions and see if that will be able to arouse the interest of your kid to listen to her.

Has your babysitter done a course on child personality development?

Most in-home babysitters today have done training on children psychology, personality and brain development before applying for a babysitter job through an agency. Still, it is imperative for you to check her certificates about the training and also ask questions to find out if she understands the different stages of child development? A pre-school going kid will have a set of different requirements from a toddler. In children at every age the behaviour changes and at a rapid pace. So, your babysitter must be well versed with the behaviour management tips. As per a few ground rules of child behaviour management that anyone babysitting at home should not use any cuss words, or resort to any kind of physical violence to make the child behave. You should discuss these issues before employing a babysitter. Also, do ask her about the different types of games that she encourages a child to play and that helps in his learning and brain development.

What kind of babysitting is required in case of sibling sitting?

In case you require babysitting for siblings, ensure that your babysitter is aware of the following thumb rules. Your babysitter should keep a close watch over the siblings but at the same time be not intrusive enough not to provide any space to them for them to do their stuff. She should always encourage collaborative activities amid siblings for them to spend quality time with each other.
She should try to instil in the elder sibling that he is the figure of authority in the absence of the parents and should drive a sense of responsibility in him about the younger sibling.

How is a babysitter communicating with the parents?

An ideal babysitter is the one who wears two hats. While she should be able to easily break the ice with your kid, be it by drawing funny faces with crayon for your kid to make him laugh or wearing costumes to entertain him and at the same time she should be responsible and considerate as per the expectations of parents. So, you should look out for these qualities in your babysitter.

The Next Step – A Session with your Child

With some background to the kind of questions to a babysitter and expectations from her, now you have to shortlist a few candidates for the babysitting job of your child. Do remember, try to pay a decent wage to a babysitter and prefer not to haggle over wages as consider this as a very important job, something that can ascertain the future of your child. So, for deciding wages it’s always better to go with the fixed rate slabs of baby daycares of Dubai. You may also cross-check wages from your circle of family or friends who had employed a professionally trained babysitter. Now, that you have shortlisted a few babysitters, arrange a session with your child, to check how the two are gelling together. Is your babysitter being able to make an impact on your child right at the first meeting? Is he able to garner the attention of your child? Whatever you know on theory now see it work with your kid. We would recommend you to make your decision to employ a babysitter at this stage depending on your liking and fit for the role for your child and have a pleasant and enriching parenting experience.

Things to Know for Palliative Nursing Care in Dubai Homes

senior care nurse
Palliative care nurse

Elderly members of a family are often diagnosed with incurable medical conditions, and coping with such a situation becomes a traumatic journey for both the patient and their families. However, it’s not just elderly family members but people of any age can suffer from such non-communicable debilitating diseases and would require holistic care at home. Cancer sufferers account to be the highest among them.

As per a recent World Health Organization (WHO) report, the population of UAE (United Arab Emirates), which is one of the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) countries, is around 9,200,000 million. Out of which, only 15 per cent are considered as Emirates nationals, the rest are expatriates. The vast population of expatriates from diverse nationalities of the world is especially strong in cities like Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

No wonder then that with such a diverse mix of population, which thrives on its working professionals, and expats staying away from their extended family or support group, home healthcare in Dubai especially to manage symptoms related to pain is of paramount importance. In the recent years, there has been a lot of emphasis from the health authorities of these cities to actively start bringing palliative care services into a more structured, and standardized module to help minimize the sufferings of those involved.

The Primary Focus of Home Palliative Care

Given the cultural and linguistic barriers, often patients suffering from critical conditions lead an isolated journey. This should be the primary focus of modern-day, updated palliative nursing care provided by nursing homes. They should address the issues of psychological demotivation, seclusion or loneliness arising from cultural gap, unstructured palliative care modules failing to address diverse timings and weekend-based needs of many expat families and above all, the dignity and kindness that all such patients deserve. Moreover, it is often the wish of such families and patients that they spend the last leg of their journey of life in the familiar comfort of home, which is often a keeper of memories.

Effective pain alleviation, proper assessment and management of pain symptoms and somatic symptoms, handing depression among patients and easing out their daily life are the core areas of palliative care that are being addressed today.

What are the Advantages of Home Palliative Care?

Palliative care also covers alleviation of pain and symptoms and suffering from treatments or surgery. At Nightingale Dubai, our holistic palliative care at home aims to supports patients and families through sensitive and advanced caring. Palliative home care services also ensure that frequent hospital trips are minimized and medical care expenses are cut down considerably. This often leaves families with more savings to further invest in quality palliative care nurses at home.

An ideal palliative care bouquet should include:

  • Alleviation of pain and uncomfortable symptoms
  • Administration of medication as needed (orally, through IV or injection)
  • Coordinating with doctors regarding daily upkeep and care management
  • Devising a daily routine around the patients
  • Providing assistance with difficult medical decisions
  • Helping in daily activities

Alleviation of pain and uncomfortable symptoms: Pain due to destabilizing diseases are commonly experienced by patients. In cases of surgeries and treatments of non-communicable incurable diseases that involve crucial bodily pain, palliative care primarily involves recognizing symptoms of pain, relapse and alleviation through proper monitoring, administration of prescription drugs and routine check-up of body rashes, bed sores etc.

Administration of medication as needed (orally, through IV or injection): In fact, administration of medicine–oral or through IV or injection on a proper, timely basis and also maintaining proper clinical hygiene of the equipment and those bodily areas is a vital component of palliative care.

Coordinating with doctors regarding daily upkeep and care management: This is another major responsibility of palliative care nurses at home. Regular communication with the concerned doctor regarding the stability of patients, observing and reporting of symptoms and contrary indications on a priority to help arrest complications right at the onset fall under the purview home care nurses.

Devising a daily routine around the patients: Once a comfort level is reached with the patient and the family, home healthcare nurses should be able to devise a sustainable routine that takes care of the patient’s daily dietary and medicine intake, fluid intake, sleep and rest, recommended exercises and engaging healthy activities like reading, listening to music, talking or any such activity that helps patients restore a balance of life.

Providing assistance with difficult medical decisions: Providing guidance on taking important medical decisions like medicine dosages etc during the course of a day also comes under the purview of a medically trained palliative care nurse.

Helping in daily activities: Assisting patients with day-to-day rituals of taking shower, toilet activities, taking meals, moving around, taking medicines, performing exercises–all have to dutifully performed by clinically treated palliative care nurses. While performing all these chores, it is most important that the nurse maintains respectful distance and composure of manners such as not to compromise on the patient’s dignity.

At Nightingale Dubai, we understand the critical as well as the delicate nature of palliative care services at home. Hence, our registered nurses are well-trained to provide positive counseling to patient at such a difficult and often destabilizing phase of their life apart from dealing with them with utmost care and respect. We understand that for a family to entrust invaluable members of their families to the care of a nurse at such a stage of their life must be fall of worries and guilt, and we only works towards filling that gap in an objective and yet homely manner.

Tips for Finding Ideal Part-Time Nannies in Dubai

Ideal Part-Time Nannies in Dubai
Ideal Part-Time Nannies in Dubai

A burgeoning city of expats, Dubai is teeming with a multitude of new mothers, often of diverse nationalities, age, linguistic and professional profiles. The demand to get back to normal (by which, we refer to the outside professional life) is pressing after six months of childbirth. Since most expat women are independent and work equally to support their families and raise their children, most of them can’t afford to take a longer sabbatical from work.

For some, there may be some helping hand and holistic support in the form of their parents, in-laws or elders staying together. But even they might need some care and assistance to ease them through their daily chores. And in families with more than one child, there might also be a necessity for hiring professional help.

Who is a Part-time Nanny?

In comes a nanny in Dubai. A professional caregiver, trained to assist with day-to-day childcare. However, recent working mothers’ blogs in Dubai show that with some experience in raising their elder child and with the presence of family elders, they look forward to hiring part-time nannies or weekend nannies in case they are freelancers whose volume of work increases on weekends. So, for freelance or weekend-working mothers, as well as mothers with some helping hand present in their family or mothers with some prior experience in childcare, the answer lies in hiring a part-time nanny for in-home infant care. This also helps them cut down on the fees of a full-time nanny and invest the money in quality childcare.

However, one can’t easily find a part-time nanny agency in Dubai. One has to ask for part-time nanny recommendations in their neighbourhood and/or at regular nanny agencies. One can look at sharing part-time nannies in their known circle of friends and neighbours. This solves the problem of reliability and also helps in cost-cutting.

Here’s a look at the necessary qualifications and traits that a professional nanny must be equipped with:

  1. Friendly, positive, and caring attitude
  2. Basic child teaching tools
  3. Preliminary medical care

1. Friendly, positive, and caring attitude: A friendly and trustworthy nanny is the biggest lookout for a family. A homecare nanny must have balanced temperament to tackle the moods of a newborn, be non-judgemental towards the child, and positive so that the child imbibes a cheerful personality. All these are important factors for any parent to consider, as in the absence of a family member, the nanny is going to be the most important psychologically influential person in the child’s life. This is very important factor for a part-time nanny as they get to spend lesser time with the child than a regular nanny and developing that bond with the child might be more difficult.

2. Basic child teaching tools: This involves age-appropriate language-learning and educational activities with the help of learners’ books and games. A well-trained nanny must be able to engage the child’s potential and mind through a series of story telling techniques, learning games, and playful activities. When the child is big enough to go out to take classes in sports or arts, the job of a part-time nanny is also to ferry the child to her classes and back home safely and cover up for the time the parents are not available.

3. Preliminary medical care: This includes day-to-day caring for the child and administering medical care whenever the need be in terms of medicines of first-aid for the duration for which they have been hired.

Here is a list of daily duties that part-time nannies working in Dubai need to fulfill:

  • Nursery duties
  • Fulfilling the emotional void
  • Keeping the home environment stimulating
  • Monitoring the child’s daily nutrition needs

Nursery duties: Often part-time nannies are hired for assisting with children’s daily nursery duties including preparing children’s meals, feeding and cleaning, washing and ironing clothes, making beds on weekends or during late-night shifts. So, they need to devise their daily routine in a manner which covers the needful applicable for that time.

Fulfilling the emotional void: A major problem that a parent faces is that their child misses them when they are not present at home. It is within the professional premises of a qualified baby sitter’s role to fill that gap in the most loving, caring, and engaging manner possible. A part-time also needs to emotionally invest in the child such as to develop both a fruitful, productive as well as a mutually enjoyable time together. Devising learning and enriching activities that the child and enjoys doing could be one of the more fruitful ways of doing this.

Keeping the home environment stimulating: It is the role and duty of a professional, part-time nanny to keep the home environment stimulating enough for the child. Cooking delicious meals, hosting interactive story telling and play acting sessions, and engaging the child in games and activities like building blocks keep the home environment creatively charged, no matter for what duration of time the part-time nanny fills in.

Monitoring the child’s daily nutrition needs: Another cause of concern for parents is whether the child is getting their daily dose of nutrition or not. The part-time nanny must adhere to a well-balanced diet in consultation with the parents, and if need be the child’s physician, to ensure that all the vital nutrients are maintained and there is enough variety of healthy and nourishing food for good growth. They must also be mindful or dietary restrictions and allergies if so prescribed and keep medical contacts on speed dial in case of an emergency.
